When caught, many give silly justifications such as, it wasn’t my fault, I didn’t mean to, you made me do it, I don’t know what made me do it, I couldn’t control myself. Is there a justification for cheating? Even if there is, it makes things worse.
So why do women and men cheat on their partners? Regardless of the reason and how reasonable it is, cheating is not acceptable and shouldn’t be tolerated. It breaks families and blemishes the hard-earned trust between the couple.
A lust problem
Unless a person deals with the weakness of sexual lust, the urge will overpower them. The problem with sexual lust is that it provides an illusion that the more sex you have with many different people, the more satisfaction you get. You need to be above your bodily lusts or else you’ll be a slave to them.
Trust issues
If you don’t trust yourself then you won’t trust anyone else and no one will dare trust you. Trust is the most expensive treasure in the world because it is hard to earn and easy to lose.
Once you lose trust in your partner, you have opened the door to possible cheating habits that will crumble your marriage and relationship.
Unsolved past
There are people who who haven’t dealt with their past and keep on going back to yesterday crumbs to find solace.
In the context of love, there are people whose ex lovers are still very much alive in their hearts and when they’re troubled emotionally, they return to have one night stands with their ex. It’s shameful and embarassing.
