Ghana’s hope of getting something from the highly anticipated Headies awards in Nigeria failed as Master KG beats our stars to the award.
Three of Ghanaian stars, Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene and Stonebwoy grabbed nominations for a chance to capture the African Artist of the year at the 14th edition of the Headies awards alongside Kenyan pop band Sauti Sol and eventual winner Master KG.
Having 3 nominations against Kenya and South Africa’s 1 respectively, every Ghanaian is confident one will emerge winner with Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale tagged as the heavy favorite.
However Master KG’s popular song Jerusalem seems to be the different maker in the award organizers mind, helping him to win the award ahead of the 3 Ghanaian heavyweights.
The African Artists recognition is a non-Nigerian award category for an individual African artiste or group with the most outstanding achievement, impact and infiltration into the Nigerian music scene in the year under review.
