The Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has released a video that gives an account of President Akufo-Addo allegedly receiving the bribe.
This video he shared on his “Moment of Truth” show on Adom TV with the caption: “Akufo-Addo caught hands down collecting bribe.”
In the video, President Akufo-Addo is seen seated in his private office at his Nima residence where a certain Hajia Fawaz presented an amount of $40k which was received and passed on to him.
This piece of news has been disputed by a section of the governing party the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who believe the original video was doctored by the NDC for their selfish political aim and to promote propaganda.
Following that a new video has been shared where the content of the video shared by Sammy Gyamfi has been rubbished and described as a ‘political gimmick.’
Corruption and corruption-related activities is an ingrained perception created in the minds of many Ghanaians by the actions and inactions of political leaders that goes a long way to affect the outcome of the election.
As Ghanaians go to the polls on December 7 2020, will the corruption allegations on the candidature of President Akufo-Addo thwart his efforts?
