Chunks of bed bugs can cause skin changes that range from inconspicuous to small pink areas to prominent bumps. Symptoms can take between spasms and days to appear and there is usually itching. Some objects can feel tired or have a fever naturally, uncovered areas of the body are affected, and often three pips occur.
Bed bugs can be mistaken for other insects, such as book lice, small cockroaches, or carpet beetles; however, when they are hot and active, their movements are even more similar and, like most other true insects, they emit a characteristic foul odor when squashed.
Bed bugs are mandatory blood suckers. They have oral passages that have been seen through the skin and correspond to anticoagulants and anesthetics. The sensitivity of humans ranges from extremely unfriendly response to no response (about 20%).
The bite naturally produces a swelling without a red spot, but when many insects feed on a small area, blood spots may appear after the swelling goes away.
Bed bugs prefer exposed skin, easily the face, neck, and arms of a sleeper.
